Last Saturday, Taipei City government released a supposedly internal document featuring a colorful rebuke written by Taipei Mayor Ko Wen-je (柯文哲). Here is the document translation: “You’ve written up a whole pile of official documents just for a difference of NT$70,000 but aren’t dealing with an issue involving several billion dollars. You should handle this sort of thing by yourself. Don’t make me angry!”
The official statement said this was leaked to the press but the real explanation is way different. Taipei spokesman Lin Ho-ming (林鶴明) declared at first that the document should never have been leaked to the press. Peanuts Daily doubted this and we went to ask Mr. Lin the true reason of the document being released:
Since Mr. Ko has been elected Mayor of Taipei, many people have doubts about his aptitude, experience and knowledge to lead a city to success. Lots of people around the office make jokes about him saying that he has no education and cannot even read or write. The leaking of the letter was made on purpose to prove to people that Taipei Mayor Ko Wen-je is educated and therefore can write.
Even if you thought the opposite, Ko can write (With a 5-year old handwriting though) and read to a 9 year old’s capacity. Apparently, he can even listen to others’ people opinions sometimes. Therefore, he definitely has the ability to lead the city.
