If you have traveled or live in Asia you will have come across convenience stores 7-11. Everyone knows you can buy everything you need from disposable underpants to razors. But as you live in constant fear of being soaked; umbrellas and the infamous blue sandals can be a godsend. That’s why Gucci and 7-11 are teaming up to create an entire new brand of blue sandals called Blue by Gucci. The sandals will consist of the very same blue sandals you know and love but with the Gucci logo and 95% of the profits go to the African shoe charity ENS. (Elephants Need Soles). A very worthy charity that gives elephants that have had their legs poached to make bins out of.
The charity will be able to give each elephant an entire new set of feet and even be able to amputate the healthy ones so the new feet don’t clash. Peanuts Daily spoke with ENS spokesperson Jargon Mumbatti:
This is an amazing opportunity for us. With the backing of these companies we will design feet for all our abused animals. It also means the Chinese visitors will flock to see them as they are brand named elephants now and that means more money for the park.
We interviewed Ms. Grace Lee, a Chinese tourist at the park to ask her thoughts about this project:
This is a great initiative. Everybody should be well dressed even the poor people dressing at 7-11 or the animals in parks. That’s a pity though that the new elephant legs don’t have a Gucci logo on them. They would be happier if they could show other elephants what they are wearing.
Will Gucci’s staff take this suggestion in consideration?
